Social ProgrammeSunday 5th September The Congress will open with an Opening Ceremony in the Pentland Auditorium of the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. This will be followed by a Welcome Reception in the Strathblane Foyer, where drinks and a fork buffet will be served. Monday 6th September Accompanying Persons half day coach tour of Edinburgh in the morning followed by lunch in the Pompadour Restaurant at the Hilton Caledonian Hotel. Monday 6th September Over one thousand years of history sits on top of the famous Edinburgh Rock, where the Castle dominates the city. Edinburgh Castle is home to Scotland's Crown Jewels, 'The Honours of Scotland' which are the oldest regalia in the British Isles. They comprise a crown, a sword and a sceptre, all of which date from the 15th & 16th Century. Edinburgh Castle is also home to the Stone of Destiny, revered as a holy relic and fought over by the Scottish and English for 700 years. Drinks and canapés will be served in this spectacular setting. Please note this is an outdoor event, so please dress accordingly and wear comfortable footwear. Monday 6th September A Ceilidh will take place at the Ghillie Dhu after the Reception at Edinburgh Castle. A live band will perform music for delegates to enjoy learning Scottish country dancing. The Congress Dinner will be held at Our Dynamic Earth. Pre-dinner drinks will be served in the Earthscapes Galleries, which include a Tropical Rainforest and Polar Region. Guests can enjoy a three-course dinner with wine. |
