A WELCOME FROM W ANGUS WALLACE ON BEHALF OF THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE
Dear Colleagues
On behalf of the Organising Committee I welcome you to Edinburgh for the 11th ICSES Congress. We are delighted and honoured to host the Congress which will be the 11th Congress I have personally attended with my wife Jackie. We have a great venue - the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in the Capital City of Scotland. We will have an opportunity to share our experiences in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery not only with our surgical, radiological and biomechanical colleagues but also with our therapists who are an integral part of our Shoulder and Elbow services. We will bring together a high quality scientific meeting with an opportunity for you to savour some of the delights of our Scottish Capital.
The social programme will involve visits in and around the historical city of Edinburgh. We will give you a chance to explore this unique capital including Edinburgh Castle and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, with its famous Surgical Museum. It is the oldest Surgical College in the world and will be 505 years old at the time of our meeting.
For those with interests in golf there will be opportunities to play on the world's most famous golf courses - The Old Course (St Andrews), Muirfield (Edinburgh); the Championship Course (Carnoustie) and the PGA Centenary Course (Gleneagles) but we would encourage you to book and plan at least one year in advance.
For those of a more leisurely nature the Whisky Trail is inviting you to enjoy the numerous distilleries which are responsible for providing the "Aqua Vita" of Scotland.
We look forward to seeing you in Edinburgh in 2010.
