Banks and Currency Exchange
The United Kingdom's currency is Pounds Sterling. Credit cards are generally accepted in restaurants and shops.
Climate and Weather
In September, the weather is likely to be mild, with an average temperature of 12oC. However as Scottish weather is unpredictable, it is advisable to bring a sweater and a light raincoat. It is daylight from 0630 to 2000 hours. Edinburgh has a large number of cobbled streets, so flat shoes are generally recommended when walking through the city centre.
Insurance
The organisers do not accept any responsibility for individual medical, travel or personal insurance. Participants are strongly advised to have their own travel insurance policies.
Passport & Visas
For citizens of the EC member countries, a passport is valid for entry into the UK, including Scotland. Each delegate is responsible for obtaining their own entry visas, if required. Please contact the proper authority (Consulate or Embassy) for information.
